Why are Academics Blinkering the Artists?

Thu Nov 5, 2009, 10:12 AM
I'm thinking about my work, and how I can achieve what I want but still pass by meeting the academic part of the course.
I have no doubt that the truth I want to show in my work will be destroyed in some way because art as an educational system must be blinkered by the academics who design and put in place the 'marking' schemes we must meet to pass the course.

This confuses me. I'm an artist. How dare they ruin my work to meet their standards. I should not have to change my work to meet what they want, they, as educated people should read into my work and discover the truth behind it.

In my work right now their is no, 'this is this, and 'that is that'.
It is work to get people to percieve what their imaginations want them to percieve. I may take a picture that I do to invoke negative emotions, but beyond that it is upto the viewer to percieve beyond that.
I don't want to tell these educational men that my pictures mean a certain thing, because it is upto them to percieve my image as they want to percieve it.

My subject is about Mystical and Magical Landscapes for a reason. Yet academics want me to take the mystery and magic out of the imagery I am doing right now.

I pity these people, I really do.

I'm an artist who tries to convey the inmages from my reality into this one from photography and clairvoyance. I love art in all forms and my goal is to make imagery that will eventually give others the inspiration they need to evolve the artistic world. I also hope to eradicate so called critics who tell other people what the artist was trying to achieve in their work without asking the artist, they all need taking aside and beating severely with bags filled with high heels and biscuits.
